Minister of Tourism explores activating tourism and investment in Idlib province

Minister of Tourism explores activating tourism and investment in Idlib province

Idlib, SANA- Minister of Tourism Mr. Mazen al-Salihani along with the deputy minister for Hotel and Quality Affairs, Mr. Faraj Qashqoush, and Idleb governor Mohammad Abdul Rahman and other officials discuss ways to boost tourism activity and expand investment opportunities across the governorate.

The meeting, held at the Idlib Governorate building, was followed by an inspection tour of several tourist and archaeological sites in the region. These included Jabal al-Zawiya and Jabal al-Arba’een in Ariha area; Darkoush; Jisr al-Shughour; Bakfala; Harim Castle; Maarrat al-Nu’man; Serjilla; Ebla; surrounding areas in the eastern and southern countryside; as well as major commercial centers in Sarmada and Dana.

The delegation also examined the status of the Carlton Hotel and its facilities, which are being prepared for investment and reopening soon to welcome visitors and tourists.

Abdullah Hallak, Head of the Media Department at the Ministry of Tourism, stated that the purpose of the meeting and tour was to position the governorate’s attractions on the national investment map and to promote new opportunities aimed at revitalizing tourism in Idlib given its remarkable natural beauty. He also noted that the ministry is working to activate medical tourism in the city through the sulfur-rich waters of Sheikh Issa Baths.
