Nearly half a million citizens have returned to the homeland since the 8th of December

Damascus, SANA – Mazen Alloush, the Director of Public Relations at the General Authority for Land and Sea ports, verified that Syrian border checkpoints have documented the return of over than 425,000 nationals from neighboring nations, along with tens of thousands of expatriates since the liberation.

In remarks made to SANA today, Alloush clarified that between December 8, 2024, and the eighth day of this month, the Syrian border points received the aforementioned numbers of citizens, as a component of the voluntary repatriation initiative from surrounding nations, particularly Turkey along with significant figures of returnees arriving from Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq.

Alloush indicated that all household goods and personal items belonging to Syrian returnees are exempt from any fees or taxes, as part of the facilities provided to encourage return and support family stability.
