On the anniversary of the martyrdom of AbdulBaset al-Sarout... an undying legacy and unforgettable songs

Damascus, SANA- Abdul Baset al-Sarout,known for his revolutionary songs and brave activism against injustice in Syria, was commemorated on the anniversary of his martyrdom in Damascus.

He was born in Homs in 1992, showcasing his athletic talent as a goalkeeper before emerging as a leader during the Syrian revolution in 2011.

Through his role in leading demonstrations and forming the “Martyrs of Bayyada” battalion, al-Sarout became a symbol of resistance against the former regime’s oppression.

With his unique blend of athletic skill and revolutionary spirit, al-Sarout left a lasting legacy of courage and steadfastness in the face of adversity, inspiring many with his unforgettable songs and unwavering dedication to the revolution until his untimely martyrdom.

Abdul Baset al-Sarout, known as the “Bulbul of the Syrian Revolution,” gained fame for his revolutionary anthems and collaboration with poet and composer Wasfi al-Masrani, producing songs that fueled the morale of revolutionaries and promoted the cause abroad.

Despite being tracked and targeted by mercenaries on June 8, 2019, al-Sarout’s legacy as a revolutionary icon lives on following his death two days later.

His martyrdom solidifies his position as a symbol of the Syrian revolution, inspiring future generations with his message of struggle and resilience.

Al-Sarout’s undying spirit serves as a reminder of his dedication to defending his homeland, freedom, and humanity, positioning him among the revered figures of Syrian history.
