Minister Badr Discusses “Transport Cooperation” with the Executive Secretary of ESCWA

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Transport Dr. Yarob Badr, met Wednesday with the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Dr. Rola Dashti, and her accompanying delegation, at the Ministry’s building in Damascus.

Minister Badr Discusses “Transport Cooperation” with the Executive Secretary of ESCWA

The meeting dealt with ways to develop technical cooperation between the Transport Ministry and ESCWA, particularly in the areas of public transportation, sustainable transport, road safety, infrastructure, and supporting regional connectivity projects in a manner that contributes to improving the efficiency of transport networks at both the national and regional levels.

Dr. Badr emphasized the importance of partnership with ESCWA and benefiting from the technical expertise it provides in the fields of planning and development.

Dr. Dashti affirmed ESCWA’s commitment to supporting Syria’s efforts in developing the transport sector, expressing the organization’s readiness to provide technical support and advice, as well as to organize programs for capacity building and strengthening regional integration.
