Washington, SANA- US State Department spokeswoman, Tammy Bruce, said Wednesday that “We are engaging with regional and global partners to open investment in Syria”, noting that “Cessation of sanctions against Syria would advance our primary objective”
In a press statement posted on US State Department website, Bruce said, “There have been several major steps over the weekend to enact President Trump’s vision of a prosperous Middle East and a stable Syria at peace with itself and its neighbors”.
We also have taken significant steps to lift sanctions against Syria, including waiver of Caesar Act sanctions for 180 days, and assuming Turkey’s Ambassador, Thomas Barrack, the role of U.S. special envoy to Syria.
