Lattakia, SANA-Firefighting teams managed Monday to control the fires erupted in Jabal al-Turkman in Rabia area, Lattakia countryside.
In a statement to a SANA reporter, Director of Civil Defense, Abdul Kafi Kayyal, said that firefighting teams are facing difficulties in controlling the fires, as the wind speed is increasing.
Kayyal added that the fires erupted has consumed over 30 hectares to 40 hectares.
He went on saying that Syrian helicopters participated in extinguishing the fire, as part of intensive efforts exerted by a number of ministries and authorities concerned.
