Damascus, SANA – A meeting was held at the Planning and International Cooperation Commission building on Thursday to discuss the action plan for restoration and rehabilitation of al- Rastan Bridge in Homs countryside.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Public Works and Housing Eng. Mustafa Abdul Razzaq, Head of the Planning and International Cooperation Commission Musab al-Badawi, and Deputy Resident Representative of the (UNDP) in Syria Mohammad Siddiq Mudawi.

During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in various fields were discussed, as well as benefiting from each other’s expertise and experiences, especially in the field of reconstruction.

The Minister Mustafa Abdul Razzaq, affirmed the Ministry’s readiness to overcome all obstacles to accelerate the rehabilitation work of the bridge.

Musab al-Badawi stressed the importance of cooperation with the UNDP to restore the bridge within the shortest possible time, as it is a vital and main road.

For his part, Mohammad Siddiq Mudawi said that work is underway to allocate the necessary costs to restore and rehabilitate the bridge as quickly as possible, in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities in Syria.
