Tartous, SANA- The Baniyas City Council launched a cleaning campaign Wednesday targeting the stream of the Baniyas River.
Ahmad Mohammad Khair, Director of Media Relations in Tartous Governorate, explained to a SANA reporter that the campaign includes clearing, removing dirt, soil, and weeds from the river stream, and disposing of them as part of the city’s cleaning plan aimed at preserving its beauty and civilized appearance.
He pointed out that the importance of the campaign lies in its timing, coinciding with the arrival of summer, to prevent the spread of unpleasant odors and harmful insects.
