Education Ministry, Turkish delegation discuss cooperation and experience exchange

Damascus, SANA – Directors at the Education Ministry discussed with a Turkish delegation on Monday ways of enhancing educational and cultural ties between the two countries in a way that contributes to providing a better future for students and rebuilding the education sector in Syria.

Key topics were discussed during the meeting between the two sides including the situation of the curricula, the plan to develop them, the general exams, and facilitating the equivalence of certificates for Syrian students returning from Turkey.

Youssef Annan, Director of Planning and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Education referred to the importance of forming a committee that includes representatives from the directorates to exchange experiences in developing curricula, with the necessity that the standards for equivalency of certificates must be consistent with those set by the Ministry.

The Turkish delegation, for its part, expressed its willingness to form a joint committee between the two ministries to exchange and enhance educational and cultural experiences between the two countries.
