Damascus, SANA- Acting Minister of Health Dr. Maher al-Sharaa discussed, during his meeting with a delegation from Malaysian Medical Relief Society (MERCY Malaysia) the joint cooperation in the health field.
During a meeting held at the ministry, Dr. al-Sharaa said that the health situation in Syria has deteriorated significantly, and a plan must be prepared for the next stage and a new health system must be established.
He praised the Malaysian efforts in Syria during the past week, looking forward to developing relations between the two countries in the health sector.
In turn, the organization’s executive director, Ahmed Faisal, explained that the health sector in Syria had been provided with 10 kidney dialysis machines, in addition to establishing an emergency center in al-Razy Hospital in Aleppo, and these projects will be implemented soon.
Faisal pointed out that during the next phase, the focus will be on mental health, primary health care, in addition to training and rehabilitation.
