Damascus, Sept. 27 (SANA) One person died and 27 others were injured in road accidents and fires across Syria over the past 24 hours, the Syrian Civil Defense said Sunday.
Its teams responded to 16 road accidents, which killed one person and injured 26 others. They provided first aid, took the injured to hospitals and secured the accident sites.
The teams also extinguished 59 fires in fields, homes, shops and other locations. One person was injured in the fires; the remaining damage was to property.
The Civil Defense urged drivers to slow down, check their vehicles’ brakes and windshield wipers, and avoid distractions such as mobile phones. It warned against lighting fires in forests or fields, discarding cigarette butts or glass containers near vegetation, and burning dry grass around homes and roadsides.
On Friday, one person died and 24 others were injured in road accidents to which Civil Defense teams responded.
