Oslo, Aug. 25 (SANA) Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide expressed admiration for the progress made in Syria, following a visit to Damascus and talks with President Ahmad al-Sharaa.
“My last visit to Syria was in January 2025, only weeks after the fall of Assad. In Damascus today, President Ahmad al-Sharaa and I reflected on the progress made in building a new, inclusive Syria. While challenges remain, I am impressed by the progress made. Norway is proud to support,” Barth Eide said in a post on X.
President al-Sharaa and Barth Eide discussed bilateral relations and ways to strengthen them during their meeting at the People’s Palace in Damascus, as well as a number of issues of mutual interest.
