Damascus, July 25 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa on Saturday expressed condolences to the families of those killed in a traffic accident on the Deir Ezzor-Damascus highway, including members of the Internal Security Forces and civilians, and ordered authorities to mobilize all available resources to respond to the incident.

In post on X, the president said he directed the relevant authorities to provide comprehensive care for the injured, manage the aftermath of the accident and support the families of the victims.

The president also extended his sympathies to the victims’ families and wishing those injured a speedy recovery.

Earlier on Saturday, 35 people, including civilians and members of the Internal Security Forces, were killed and 30 others injured when two passenger buses collided on the Deir Ezzor-Damascus highway.

The Ministry of Defense deployed military helicopters to evacuate the injured and the bodies of those killed to Homs Military Hospital. Authorities also activated emergency response systems and placed hospitals in the affected governorates on high alert to receive casualties and provide the necessary medical treatment.
