Raqqa, July 7 (SANA) Syria reopened Rashid Bridge over the Euphrates River in Raqqa on Monday after a four-month reconstruction project, restoring a key transport link connecting both sides of the city.

The reopening ceremony was attended by Transport Minister Yarub Badr, Minister of Public Works and Housing Mustafa Abdul Razzaq, and Raqqa Governor Abdul Rahman Salama.

The bridge, previously destroyed during the war, was rebuilt by the General Establishment for Road Transport in cooperation with the Syrian Establishment for Construction and Building in Raqqa.

Transport Minister Yarub Badr told SANA the project was completed through coordination between the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, and the Raqqa Governorate, allowing the bridge to reopen on schedule.

Public Works and Housing Minister Mustafa Abdul Razzaq said the project forms part of Syria’s reconstruction efforts, highlighting the bridge’s importance in reconnecting both banks of the Euphrates River and supporting economic activity in the province.

Raqqa Governor Abdul Rahman Salama said authorities will next begin rehabilitating Maghla Bridge as part of a broader program to restore bridges across the province.

Rashid Bridge is one of Raqqa’s principal crossings over the Euphrates, serving both passenger and commercial traffic. Its reopening restores an important transport corridor and supports the movement of people and goods as reconstruction efforts continue in the province.
