Khattab, Mitri discuss cooperation and refugee issues

Damascus, May.9 (SANA) Interior Minister Anas Khattab discussed on Saturday with Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister Tarek Mitri advancing bilateral cooperation.

According to a statement published by the Syrian Interior Ministry on its Telegram channel, the talks focused on three main tracks, including the development of security cooperation strategies in a manner that consolidates coordination and addresses shared security challenges.

The discussions also addressed the progress of the joint security committee established following the visit of the delegation headed by Deputy Interior Minister Major General Abdul Qader Tahan, assessing the work accomplished during the previous period and mechanisms for completing the remaining tasks.

The meeting further examined issues related to Syrian refugees in Lebanon, particularly the legal aspects connected to their status, in addition to matters concerning official documentation, in a way that contributes to organizing the file and addressing associated challenges.
