Damascus, April 22 (SANA) Syrian Energy Minister Mohammad al-Bashir said on Wednesday that the resumption of natural gas flows via Jordan, along with maintenance work and balanced electricity consumption, has contributed to noticeable improvements in power stability across most regions of Syria.

In a post on X, al-Bashir said Syrians have begun to observe a tangible improvement in the electricity situation in most provinces, with supply in some areas reaching 24 hours of continuous service for the first time in years.

He added that, although improvements have not yet reached all regions, work is ongoing to repair faults in substations and transmission lines, particularly in eastern and southern provinces, to achieve broader and more stable electricity supply.

On Jan. 8, the Energy Ministry announced the start of receiving natural gas for electricity generation under an agreement to import gas via Jordan at a rate of 4 million cubic meters per day.
