Beirut, April 21 (SANA) Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said on Monday he supports the vision outlined by Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa to end ongoing wars and move toward stability and reconstruction in Syria and Lebanon.
In a post on X, Salam said he “fully agrees” with President al-Sharaa’s remarks addressed to the Syrian and Lebanese peoples, adding that both countries should move beyond years of war toward stability and reconstruction. “Our two peoples are weary of tragedies,” he said.
Salam also welcomed the spirit of sportsmanship shown during a friendly basketball match between Syrian and Lebanese teams, held to mark the reopening of al-Fayhaa Sports Hall in Damascus.
President al-Sharaa earlier attended the reopening ceremony, which included a performance event followed by the match, with senior officials in attendance.
