Damascus, Apr.13 (SANA) The Internal Security Directorate in Yabroud, Damascus Countryside, reported the arrest of three individuals involved in transporting narcotic substances from Lebanese territory into Syria.
According to the Damascus Countryside Media Directorate on its Telegram channel on Monday, investigations with the detainees revealed led to the leader of the network, who was subsequently taken into custody in accordance with legal procedures.
The suspect was found to be involved in a previously seized shipment containing approximately 650,000 captagon pills, 100 kilograms of hashish, 226 nitrous oxide canisters, and a quantity of marijuana.
Authorities also noted that the Anti-Narcotics Departments in Syria and Jordan had recently carried out a joint operation that culminated in thwarting an attempt to smuggle 943 kilograms of captagon through the Jaber border crossing.
