Damascus, April 5 (SANA) Christian denominations observing the Eastern calendar marked Palm Sunday across Syria on Sunday, holding prayers and Masses to commemorate the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.
At the Mariamite Cathedral of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate in Damascus, Patriarch John X Yazigi, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, presided over a Mass with the participation of bishops and priests, accompanied by the cathedral choir.
At Saint George Cathedral of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Syriac Orthodox Church, led a Mass with the participation of church officials and clergy.
During the services, patriarchs and bishops delivered sermons, praying for Syria and its people and calling for peace and unity across the country.
