Damascus, March 27 (SANA) Syria’s Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hind Kabawat, met with Nathalie Fustier, the acting Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for United Nations operations in Syria, to discuss expanding cooperation on humanitarian and social programs.
During the meeting in Damascus on Thursday, both sides stressed the need to better align UN assistance with national development priorities. The discussions focused on ensuring that international support contributes more effectively to improving living conditions, particularly as Syria continues to face significant economic and humanitarian pressures.
The officials highlighted the importance of shifting toward programs that combine immediate relief with longer-term economic and social support, aimed at addressing the needs of vulnerable communities across the country.

The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to deepen coordination between the ministry and UN agencies working in humanitarian, relief, and social sectors, with a focus on improving the effectiveness and delivery of aid programs.
