Syrian and Azerbaijani officials discussed strengthening bilateral security cooperation and coordination in combating organized crime

Damascus, March 11 (SANA) Syrian and Azerbaijani officials discussed strengthening bilateral security cooperation and coordination in combating organized crime during a meeting in Damascus, Syria’s Interior Ministry said Wednesday.

Colonel Abdul Rahim Jbara, director of the International Cooperation Department at the Syrian Ministry of Interior, met with Alnur Shah Huseynov, chargé d’affaires of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Damascus, to explore ways to expand cooperation between the two countries, particularly in policing and security fields.

According to a statement posted on the ministry’s Telegram channel, the talks focused on enhancing the exchange of expertise and improving coordination in efforts to combat organized crime.

The discussions also addressed ways to strengthen cooperation in support of regional security and stability while serving the shared interests of both countries.

The Interior Ministry said such meetings form part of Syria’s broader efforts to expand cooperation with Arab and international partners in security and law enforcement.
