Justice Minister: Legal work underway to hold deposed regime figures accountable

Damascus, Feb. 21 (SANA) Justice Minister Mazhar al-Wais affirmed that the pursuit of figures and affiliates of the ousted regime is the result of continuous legal work aimed at documenting crimes and building comprehensive case files in accordance with judicial procedures.

He noted that these measures pave the way for bringing the perpetrators to justice, holding them accountable under the law, and preventing impunity.

Al-Wais added that the Ministry is working to enhance judicial documentation mechanisms and develop evidence-gathering procedures to ensure that violations are addressed within the framework of justice, accountability, and the rule of law, in line with the state’s commitment to protecting rights and safeguarding societal security.
