Damascus, Feb. 19 (SANA) Syria’s Health Minister Musab al-Ali on Thursday reopened eight departments at al-Tall National Hospital near Damascus after renovation work aimed at improving medical services for thousands of residents in the surrounding countryside.
According to the Health Ministry, the project included the establishment of new departments, refurbishment of existing facilities, and the installation of modern medical equipment. The work was carried out with support from the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) and contributions from the local community.
Al-Tall, located northwest of the capital, serves a densely populated area of the Damascus countryside.
The upgrades are part of a broader plan to restore healthcare infrastructure damaged during years of war. The plan includes the comprehensive rehabilitation of Syria’s health sector and the rebuilding of hospitals and clinics, particularly in areas where government control was reestablished in recent years, including the Jazira area in the country’s northeast.
