Baghdad, Feb. 8 (SANA) – US envoy to Syria Tom Barrack held a phone call on Sunday with Masoud Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), to discuss recent developments in Syria and broader political dynamics across the region.
According to Barzani’s official website, both sides agreed on the need to continue taking all necessary steps to prevent tensions and instability, and to work toward peace and lasting stability in the region.
The ceasefire and full integration agreement signed on January 18 between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has received wide Arab and international support. The deal, signed by President Ahmad al‑Sharaa, has been described as a pivotal step toward strengthening Syria’s unity, stabilizing the country, and restoring full state authority across its territory.
