Beirut, Feb.7 (SANA) Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji said Saturday that Friday’s agreement to transfer Syrian prisoners from Lebanon to Syria marks a first step toward improving relations between the two countries.
In a post on X, Rajji emphasized that Lebanon will continue working with Syria on key issues. These include the fate of missing Lebanese citizens, the demarcation of land and maritime borders, the safe return of Syrian refugees, and the review of bilateral agreements to protect the interests and sovereignty of both nations.
The agreement was signed in Beirut following coordinated efforts by both governments to address the situation of Syrian detainees and ensure justice while safeguarding their rights and dignity.
