Hasakah, Feb. 2 (SANA) Syria’s Internal Security Forces moved towards the city of Hasakah on Monday as part of the implementation of an agreement reached between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), the Interior ministry said.
The Syrian government announced on Jan. 30 that it had reached a comprehensive agreement with the SDF providing for a ceasefire and a phased process to integrate military and administrative structures into the State’s institutions.
Ahead of the convoy’s entry into the city, the commander of Internal Security Forces in Hasakah province, Brig. Gen. Marwan al-Ali, gave instructions to security units to carry out their duties in accordance with approved plans, adhere to laws and regulations, and ensure discipline while maintaining public order and protecting citizens and public and private property.
In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the Ministry of Interior said the deployment marks the start of the agreement’s implementation phase and the full assumption of security responsibilities by state institutions.
The ministry added that the move is intended to ensure a smooth transition of security administration, safeguard citizens and property, and enhance stability in line with applicable laws.
