Quneitra, Jan. 30 (SANA) Israeli occupation forces stationed at Tel al-Ahmar al-Gharbi opened fire with heavy machine guns on farmland near the village of Kodneh in southern Quneitra on Friday, while other units advanced in parts of the province, southwestern Syria.
SANA’s reporter in Quneitra said heavy gunfire was heard during the targeting of the Kodneh farms, but there were no immediate reports of casualties. The reporter added that Israeli troops entered the village of Saida with five military vehicles, set up a temporary checkpoint on the road linking Abu Madhra’a Farm and Saida, and searched passersby before withdrawing.
Later on Friday, another Israeli unit with two vehicles crossed from Abu Ghaithar and set up a checkpoint west of the village of Saida al-Hanout before pulling back.
Israel continues its attacks and violations of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement by advancing into southern Syria and targeting civilians through raids, arrests, and land bulldozing.
Syria has repeatedly called for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from its territory, stressing that Israel’s actions in southern Syria are illegal under international law. It has also urged the international community to take measures to prevent such incidents and ensure a full Israeli withdrawal from the area.
