Damascus, Jan. 26 (SANA) The Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has formed a committee to coordinate and facilitate humanitarian aid convoys to Ain al-Arab and Hasakah province, in response to the pressing humanitarian needs in the region.
Qutaiba Kadish, Director of the Ministry’s International Cooperation Department, explained that the committee operates under the Ministry’s supervision and includes representatives from UN organizations as well as international and local partners. The primary goal is to optimize humanitarian efforts and ensure aid reaches those in need.
In a statement to SANA on Sunday, Kadish reported that the committee had dispatched a convoy of 24 trucks to Ain al-Arab. The convoy is carrying food supplies, fuel, bread, hygiene products, cleaning kits, kitchen utensils, blankets, mattresses, winter clothes, raincoats, children’s toys, and other essential items. He added that 32 aid trucks are scheduled to depart for Qamishli on Monday, carrying additional food and humanitarian supplies.
Kadish emphasized that the Ministry is committed to ensuring the regular and consistent delivery of aid, working closely with all relevant parties to guarantee the success of the humanitarian response.
He also noted that in recent days, the Ministry had granted all necessary approvals and logistical support to UN relief agencies operating in Ain al-Arab. Kadish expressed hope that no obstacles would arise, allowing aid to reach civilians without delay.
Earlier on Sunday, the Syrian Arab Army’s Operations Command announced the opening of two humanitarian corridors to facilitate the entry of aid and the passage of humanitarian cases to both Hasakah and Ain al-Arab.
On Saturday evening, the Ministry of Defense extended the ceasefire in all Syrian Arab Army operation sectors for an additional 15 days, in support of the U.S. operation to transfer ISIS detainees from SDF-run prisons to Iraq.
