Kabawat: Decree No. (13) on Syrian Kurds an important step

Kabawat: Decree No. (13) on Syrian Kurds an important step

Damascus,Jan.17 (SANA)– Syrian Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hind Kabawat affirmed that Presidential Decree No. (13) of 2026 concerning Syrian Kurds guarantees the restoration of their right to preserve their cultural and national identity.

In a statement on Saturday, Kabawat stressed that Syria’s progress and rise are closely linked to the advancement of all its components, without exception.

She appreciated the decree, noting that the it represents a practical and important step toward strengthening equal citizenship, eliminating forms of discrimination, protecting the legitimate rights of all citizens, and building an inclusive Syrian national identity based on rights and duties.

Kabawat emphasized that Kurds constitute a genuine and inseparable part of Syria’s rich national identity, pointing out that the ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity that characterizes Syrian society is a true source of strength and a foundation for the continuity of the nation.
