The crowd chanted patriotic songs and slogans, expressing their resolve to continue the march of victory and rebuild the country.

During the celebration, Hama Governor Abdul Rahman al-Suhayan stated that the city’s liberation is a day inscribed in history with golden letters, affirming that Hama is the mother of heroism and sacrifice, and has always been at the forefront of resisting the tyrannical regime.

He added: “We recall that historic moment a year ago when the revolutionaries entered this beloved and blessed city. We stood at its gates, praying for God to grant us victory and the downfall of the criminal regime.”

He stressed that this great milestone was preceded by many ordeals, the cries of detainees, the voices of the displaced, bombardment, and forced migration. Thanks to these sacrifices, liberation was achieved.

He noted that Hama began confronting the oppressive regime as early as the 1960s, and with such steadfast will, it will continue its role in rebuilding the country.

“We say to all of Syria: no to division. Syria is one land and one people. Together, we will rebuild everything destroyed by the regime and restore the country to its rightful place of glory and brilliance,” the governor declared.

The celebration in al-Assi Square embodied the spirit of victory and Syrian unity. According to many participants, the Liberation Anniversary is not merely a historical milestone, but a new covenant to build a strong and united Syria, capable of overcoming the legacy of the fallen regime and moving toward the future its people aspire to.
