Information minister discusses “Damascus Media Gateway City” with Al-Maha company

Minister of Information Hamza al-Mustafa met on Thursday with Mohamed Alenezi, Chairman of Al-Maha Production International Company, to discuss the practical steps needed to turn the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two parties into an official agreement and executive contracts for the Damascus Media Gateway City project.

The project aims to establish the “Damascus Media Gateway City” as a leading hub for media and artistic production in the region, attracting investments in both artistic and technical production, while providing a comprehensive environment for media professionals and technicians.

The meeting also addressed the technical studies that Al-Maha Production has been working on since the MoU’s signing, as well as the company’s financial capacity. Additionally, the discussion covered government commitments and support to ensure the project’s completion to the highest standards, aligning with the Ministry’s strategic vision to strengthen Syria’s media infrastructure.

Minister al-Mustafa emphasized that the project is a key strategic priority for the Ministry, aiming to advance the media sector’s infrastructure in Syria.

The “Damascus Media Gateway City” project represents a significant strategic step in the development of Syria’s media infrastructure. The city will be built in Damascus and its surrounding areas, covering 2 million square meters, with an investment cost of 1.5 billion dollars.

The city will feature four main sections: Outdoor filming studios modeled after the architecture of nine historic Arab cities, and indoor studios for satellite and radio broadcasting, equipped with the latest media and engineering technology. It will include also a production services section and a public services section.
