Civil Aviation :US Decision to Lift Restrictions Boosts Fleet ,Airport Modernization

Damascus, SANA – The Syrian General Civil Aviation Authority welcomed the US Department of Commerce’s decision to lift restrictions on exports and re-exports to Syria, affirming that the move will significantly aid the modernization of the country’s civil aviation sector.

Authority Chairman Omar al-Hussary described the step as “strategic,” noting it will enable Syria to import civilian spare parts more flexibly, improve aviation safety, and upgrade navigation and communication systems with the latest technologies.

He added that lifting the restrictions will also facilitate the modernization of airport infrastructure, allowing the adoption of advanced equipment and software that align with international aviation standards and strengthen confidence among global partners.
