Qatar reiterates its condemnation of the Israeli aggression on the Syrian territories

Doha, SANA – Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the State of Qatar, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalifi, reiterated Qatar’s condemnation of the Israeli aggression on the city of Sweida, as a blatant violation of Syria’s sovereignty, the principles of international law and the United Nations Charter, and a serious threat to the security of the region.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on Tuesday, Al-Khalifi emphasized Qatar’s full support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and the aspirations of its brotherly people to live in dignity.

He said: “The State of Qatar is following with great concern the developments in the southern Syrian city of Sweida, based on its firm conviction that the security of Syria is an integral part of the security of the region.”

Al-Khalifi called on for taking all measures to ensure that these crimes are not repeated, including holding accountable all parties that caused the shedding of civilian blood and terrorizing innocent and defenseless people, especially children, women and the elderly, and ensuring that those who committed these horrific crimes do not go unpunished, stressing the importance of intensifying efforts to consolidate civil peace through dialogue and peaceful means.

Earlier today, the Qatari Foreign Ministry welcomed the Syrian government’s announcement of a ceasefire in the city of Sweida, emphasizing its support for all measures taken by the Syrian government to maintain security and stability.
