A campaign to open roads in forests of Lattakia countryside

Lattakia, SANA- Emergency and Disaster Management Ministry announced Monday launch of a campaign in Latakia countryside aimed at at opening roads within forested areas following the fires that broke out in Qastal Maaf area.

The ministry said in a statement that this campaign aims to facilitate access to forests in order to help firefighting teams quickly extinguish any fires would break out again.

Over the first two weeks of July, northern Latakia countryside witnessed breaking out of fires over thousands of hectares of forest.
