Syria and Turkey discuss enhancing Cooperation in the Education Sector

Damascus, SANA- Minister of Education Mohammad Abdul Rahman Tarkou discussed Thursday with Turkish Deputy Minister of National Education, Celile Ökten and the accompanying delegation to strengthening educational ties and exploring new avenues for mutual cooperation.

During the meeting, Minister Turkou emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries based on the distinguished historical ties especially in the educational sector which is considered a key pillar in rebuilding Syria and fostering economic development.Syria and Turkey discuss enhancing Cooperation in the Education Sector

Minister Turkou emphasized the importance of leveraging Turkey’s pioneering experience in vocational and technical education as a key means of rebuilding and promoting economic development in Syria.

The Turkish delegation, underscored the need to form a joint committee to oversee the development of partnerships and collaboration, in addition to organizing cooperation agreements and opening schools in the cities of Damascus, Aleppo, and Lattakia.Syria and Turkey discuss enhancing Cooperation in the Education Sector

The Turkish side emphasized the importance of rehabilitation schools, and the adaptation of best pedagogical practices, and share vocational training experiences with the Syrian side.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties stressed the need to reactivate previous agreements and enhance bilateral cooperation to serve the educational interests of both countries
