Berlin, SANA-The German Foreign Ministry announced, on Wednesday, the provision of an additional financial support of three million euros for the “Food from Ukraine to Syria” initiative, with the aim of distributing grain to those in need inside Syria, as part of joint humanitarian efforts with Ukraine and the World Food Programme.
The Ministry’s media center posted on the “X” platform that this support contributes to boosting the Ukrainian economy on the one hand, and provides vital food aid to Syrians affected by the crisis on the other, praising the role of the World Food Programme in implementing this initiative.
This step complements previous initiatives launched by Ukraine to support food security in Syria. 500 tons of wheat flour were sent at the end of last year, benefiting more than 160,000 people across various Syrian regions.
