Syria condemns Israeli infiltration into Beit Jinn, calls on the international community to stop Israeli attacks

Damascus, SANA – The Syrian Arab Republic strongly condemned the Israeli infiltration into the town of Beit Jinn in Damascus countryside, which claimed the life of a young man and the arrest of other residents of the town.

“That escalation represents a clear violation of international law and relevant Security Council resolutions, including the 1974 Disengagement Agreement,” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said in a statement on Thursday.

The statement added that Syria affirms that those provocative actions hinder efforts to achieve stability and reconstruction, and calls on the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) to assume its responsibilities.

It also calls on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to take decisive steps to halt those repeated attacks and ensure respect for international law, in order to preserve regional security and stability.
