Qatar renews its welcome of Syria's positive steps towards consensus and building a state of law

Madrid, SANA-The Special Envoy of the Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Hanzab, has renewed his country’s welcome of the positive steps taken by Syria towards national consensus and the establishment of a state of law and institutions.

In a speech during a meeting of the political directors of the Global Coalition against Daesh in the Spanish capital, Madrid, as reported by the Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Qatari ambassador said: “Lifting the sanctions on Syria is an important step towards supporting its stability and prosperity.”

The Special Envoy of the Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs called for respecting the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Syria, pointing out that any military action that detracts from this sovereignty is no less dangerous than combating terrorist groups.

Ambassador Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Hanzab also renewed the State of Qatar’s firm commitment to the mission and objectives of the Global Coalition and its support for all efforts to mobilize the necessary resources to defeat “Daesh,” especially in the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic and the sisterly Republic of Iraq.
