Supporting the Labour sector and building capabilities is the focus of the Syrian-Qatari discussions

Geneva, SANA – Minister of Social Affairs and Labour, Hind Kabawat, discussed Thursday with Her Excellency Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour of the State of Qatar, strengthening collaboration in several areas related to supporting the labor sector and amending legislation.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the international labour conference held in Geneva, in which Minister Kabawat affirmed the importance of continuing Qatar’s support for Syria, particularly in terms of amending labor law, enhancing security, and building capacities.

For her turn, Her Excellency Sheikha Najwa indicated Qatar’s readiness to support the labor sector through memoranda of understanding and the formation of a joint technical committee to heighten cooperation.
