Brussels, SANA-European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has welcomed the decision to lift economic sanctions on Syria, reaffirming Europe’s readiness to collaborate with the country on its path to recovery.
In a post on the “X” platform on Tuesday, von der Leyen stated: “I welcome the decision to lift sanctions on Syria. The road to recovery remains long, but Europe stands ready to work alongside Syria throughout this journey.”
She also expressed the desire for Europeans to be partners in Syria’s growth, alongside their allies in the region and beyond.
