Minister of Education and British State Minister discuss ways of cooperation in education sector

London, SANA-Education Minister, Dr. Mohammad Abdul Rahman Tarko, discussed with British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa, Hamish Falconer, ways to support Syrian education sector and ensure “the right to education” as a fundamental human right.

During an official meeting held on the sidelines of the Education World Forum (EWF) 2025 in London, the two sides discussed the challenges facing the education process in Syria in light of the humanitarian and living conditions, and the importance of strengthening cooperation to ensure Syrian children’s access to education, particularly in areas affected by conflict and displacement.

The two sides also stressed the need to unify international efforts to support the right to education as a basic human right, emphasizing that education constitutes a tool for communication and building a sustainable future.

The meeting, attended by British Special Envoy for Syria Ann Snow, comes as part of Syria’s drive to strengthen international partnerships, contributing to the development of the education system and the expansion of learning opportunities.
