German Foreign Ministry Welcomes Trump's Announcement to Lift Sanctions on Syria

Berlin, SANA- German Foreign Ministry welcomed US President Donald Trump’s announcement to lift sanctions on Syria and affirmed its continued work with the Syrian government to improve the economic environment and achieve a sustainable recovery for the Syrian economy.

“Germany, since the fall of the former regime, has supported the lifting of sanctions on Syria in the areas of finance, transportation, and energy”, The ministry said in a blog post on its account on “X” platform on Wednesday.

The Ministry added: “We are working with our partners hard to help the Syrians rebuild their country and strive towards a free and democratic future, and that The transitional process in Syria is comprehensive.”
