New York, SANA- Libya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Taher Al-Sunni, affirmed his country’s full support for Syria and its people during the current conditions.
“During Libya’s presidency of the Arab Group, I was pleased to meet his excellency, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Asaad al-Shaibani, in New York, as we held a joint meeting attended by ambassadors and representatives of the Arab Group” The Libyan News Agency quoted al-Sounni as saying on X.
His Excellency the Minister gave a briefing on the latest developments in Syria, and the efforts of the new transitional government and its leadership to confront the current political, security and economic challenges, stressing the state’s approach to reunification through a comprehensive Syrian national dialogue.
“we affirmed Libya’s full support for Syria and its people during the current circumstances, and the importance of cooperation, working together, and benefiting from the experiences that both brotherly countries have gone through over the past years’’ al-Sonni added.
“The talks also dealt with ways of cooperation and the role of the Arab group in supporting Syria and its people, to recover from the crises it went through and preserving its sovereignty, territorial integrity and stability”. Al Sunni said.
