Al-Khulaifi: Qatar will discuss with Washington easing and lifting sanctions imposed on Syria

Doha, SANA- Qatari Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammad al Khulaifi, announced on Monday that several issues related to Syria will be discussed during the upcoming visit of a Qatari delegation to the United States of America.

Al-Khulaifi told AFP that the delegation will seek raising the issue of the ongoing sanctions on Syria in order to  ease and lift them, adding that the delegation will discuss with the American side and regional parties assistance in increasing public sector salaries, and the issue of Qatari financing for gas supplies to Syria.

He pointed out that there are serious steps in this regard, and they will discuss them closely with the Americans to determine how to proceed with this project, with regard to gas supplies to Syria and other means of support.”

Syrian President, Ahmad al-Sharaa, visited Qatar last Tuesday and met His Excellency Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha.
