Turkey: Israel's aggression against Syria is a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and a threat to regional stability

New York, SANA-Turkey’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asli Guven, stressed that the ongoing Israeli attacks on Syrian territory constitute a violation of its sovereignty and threaten regional stability.

“Israel continues to attack Syria’s territory, violating its sovereignty and threatening entire regional stability, and has directly weakened Syrian efforts to combat the terrorist organization ISIS and joint efforts to combat terrorism.”Turkey’s Anadolul Agency quoted Guven as saying in a speech during the UN Security Council session on Israeli attacks on Syria held on Thursday.

Guven articulated that the steps taken by the Syrian administration demonstrated its will to implement a Syrian-owned and led political transition process, in line with the expectations of its people, and called for the “full protection of Syria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity”, noting Turkey’s willingness to cooperate with it in this vital mission.
