Egypt:Israeli raids on Syrian territory are serious escalation and flagrant violation of Syrian sovereignty

Cairo, SANA- Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Wednesday the Israeli incursions into Syrian territory, stressing that they constitute a serious escalation and a flagrant violation of Syrian sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity.

“Egypt considers the Israeli raids on the territory of the brotherly Syrian Arab Republic to be an attempt to impose a fait accompli and reflect Israel’s insistence on continuing to ignite tension in the region.” The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement posted on its official Facebook page.

In conclusion of its statement, the Ministry called on international actors and the Security Council to fulfil their responsibilities in condemning these repeated Israeli violations, to put an end to irresponsible Israeli policies and to oblige “Israel” to end its occupation of Syrian territory and to comply with the norms of international law.
