Diplomats: EU to Suspend Syria Banking, Energy, Transport Sanctions

Brussels-SANA- Diplomats in Brussels announced Friday that the EU countries intend to officially suspend sanctions imposed on Syria in the banking, energy and transportation sectors next Monday.

“The foreign ministers of the 27 countries who will meet on Monday in the Belgian capital will make an official decision on this matter after an initial agreement was reached during their previous meeting last January,” AFP quoted the diplomats as saying.
