Damascus, SANA-Foreign and Expatriates Minister Asaad al-Shaybani met with a government delegation headed by Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev.
Rafiyev conveyed the congratulations of his country’s leadership to the Syrian people on their victory, stressing his country’s support for the new government to advance and rebuild Syria.
Rafiyev pointed out the importance of developing relations between the two countries and reopening the embassy after 12 years of interruption.
For his part, Minister al-Shaybani thanked the Azerbaijani delegation for the visit, and appreciated the Azerbaijani state’s stance in support of the Syrian people.
During the meeting, Minister al-Shaybani stressed that the priorities of the Syrian government are economic development and maintaining the security and stability of the region.
