Damascus, SANA- During a meeting between leader of the new administration in Syria, Ahmed Al-Sharaa, with UN envoy for Syria, Mr. Geir Pedersen, the two sides discussed the necessity of reconsidering Resolution 2254 in view of the changes that have occurred in the political scene, which makes it necessary to update the resolution to suit the new situation.

Leader Al-Sharaa also stressed the importance of quick and effective cooperation to address Syrian issues and the necessity of focusing on Syria’s territorial integrity, reconstruction and achieving economic development.

Al-Sharaa called for rehabilitating institutions to build a strong and effective system, and providing a safe environment for the return of refugees.
