UAE condemns terrorist attack on Syrian security, US forces near Palmyra

Abu Dhabi, Dec. 14 (SANA) The United Arab Emirates on Sunday strongly condemned the terrorist attack that targeted Syrian security forces and US forces near Palmyra in Homs province, central Syria, resulting in several deaths and injuries.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that “the United Arab Emirates expresses its strong condemnation of these terrorist acts and its permanent rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability.”

The ministry expressed its “sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of this heinous attack,” as well as to “the United States of America and its people, and to the Syrian Arab Republic and its brotherly people,” and wished a speedy recovery to all those injured.

The Syrian security forces and US forces came under a terrorist attack on Saturday while conducting a joint field patrol near Palmyra. The attack resulted in the deaths of two US soldiers and a civilian interpreter, and the injury of two members of the Syrian security forces.
